INTRODUCING THE R&R REPORTER
Back after a brief hiatus (20 years!), I’m excited to unveil the newly digital R&R Reporter.
Publishing quarterly, the R&R Reporter will bring you up to speed on much of the firm’s happenings, from deal news and media coverage to speaking engagements and events. We’ll share insights and ideas that impact our business and our industry, spotlight you and your co-workers and showcase your individual and collective contributions to Rosenthal.
But I can’t do this without you! I need you to help fill the pages of the R&R Reporter with stories about honors, awards and recognitions, client successes and profiles of everyone who is making a difference at Rosenthal every day. Please share your updates, stories and ideas with me at crosenthal@rosenthalinc.com.

FROM THE DESK OF PETER ROSENTHAL: LOOKING AHEAD TO 2020
As we embark on Rosenthal’s 82nd year, I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude to each of you. Simply put, we would not be where we are today without your commitment to our clients, and your many significant contributions to Rosenthal over the past year.
2019 was not without its challenges. Our clients faced many obstacles – burdensome tariffs, liquidity concerns, downsizing in the retail sector and other external factors – all of which have impacted our clients’ businesses as well as the industries we serve. Likewise, with businesses having more access to more capital than in years past, competition even within our own industry was fierce. But, the breadth of our offerings and the diversity of our tools and resources continued to set us apart from our competitors in 2019. While it’s unlikely we will fully exit this period of uncertainty in the foreseeable future, I am optimistic that the coming year will bring more growth, not only for our clients, but for Rosenthal as well.
Our collective accomplishments over the past year have reminded me that even when our clients face seemingly unbeatable odds, Rosenthal is always there. We offer support when other lenders won’t and guidance to navigate complex circumstances in ways that other lenders can’t.
Heading into 2020, I feel confident that we have the best possible team in place to continue our growth. We’ve worked together to find solutions to complicated issues and have learned how to adapt Rosenthal’s business and offerings to meet the changing needs of our clients and prospects. I know we will continue to collaborate, problem solve and be steadfast partners to our clients – and, more importantly, each other – in the year ahead.
Wishing you all a happy and healthy 2020!
--Peter
On December 12, our Rosenthal family braved the cold and exited 1370 Broadway for our annual holiday party at Bryant Park. No surprise to anyone, the place was decked out more beautifully and more festive than ever, thanks to Eric Rosenthal, who works tirelessly each year to make it a special night for all of us. It was hard to know what to eat first, between the caviar, extensive raw bar, sushi, duck and chocolate fountain, oh my! Beverages were flowing and later on, dancers were dancing. It was a treat to have our colleagues from other cities there for the celebration, including Ken Frasier, Leigh Lones, Al Foster, Joel Rollins, Jennifer Draffkorn, Robyn Robinson and Ying Yang.
Our president, Peter Rosenthal, addressed all of the employees, congratulating them on their hard work and thanking them for their commitment to the company and to each other this past year. Ross’ daughter, Jazzmin Sade, got the crowd roaring with her beautiful voice, AND in case you missed it, Peter Rosenthal sang all the words and danced to the 90s Bell Biv DeVoe hit, Poison. There may have also been rapping, but for now it remains Rosenthal folklore. Stay tuned til’ next year!

10 QUESTIONS WITH…PHILIPPE ALLARD
In each issue, the R&R Reporter will profile Rosenthal employees from around the company, offering an inside look not only at their careers, but also their lives outside the office.
Our inaugural profile celebrates Philippe Allard, EVP in our Southeast office. Philippe is retiring this month after a remarkable 45-year career in financial services. Philippe spent 15 years at BB&T before joining Rosenthal as part of the acquisition in 2016, successfully leading the team through that transition and into a solid position heading into 2020. Peter Rosenthal praised Philippe's invaluable contributions to the firm: “Philippe assured us he would do everything in his power to keep the business on track and that’s precisely what he did. He will be sorely missed.”

Over the past few years, Rosenthal has partnered with The Lead, an industry organization bridging the fashion and technology communities through invitation-only events, proprietary research and exclusive editorial content. Through our partnership, we've been able to share our financial services expertise and client success stories with The Lead's growing network of hundreds of the hottest brands, investors and tech leaders today.
Rosenthal’s The Fix launches at The Lead Innovation Summit 2019 in Brooklyn.
At the inaugural Lead Innovation Summit in 2019, Rosenthal joined fashion and retail innovators to launch our first-ever live activation, a branded experience we've named The Fix. We held one-on-one meetings on site with business owners, investors and tech companies to learn more about where their businesses are headed and to share more about what we do and how we can help.
Through The Fix, we're positioning Rosenthal as experts and trusted partners to founders and key decision makers, offering them one-stop solutions to their pressing financial challenges. The Fix will continue to evolve in 2020 through original content like case studies and client interviews as well as branded live activations at conferences and trade shows.
